Investigation into the Łącko market, 14 Aug 2013
Mostly small animals and poultry are up for sale but there are also 5 cows, including calves, 5 sheep and approximately 50 piglets. The calves and piglets are transported in regular cargo trucks. The market’s infrastructure only features a small shelter and a ramp, which isn’t suitable for animal loading. The poultry and rabbits are kept in small cages, largely overcrowded, most of them without access to water.
No veterinary supervision is observed. The city council will be notified of observed law violations.
